Creating a game

From the game home page there are 2 options

Joining a game

The 6 units of each faction will have been placed on the board. Space Marines on the left and Necrons on the right. Your units on the board will also be displayed at the bottom of the board as Unit Cards. These unit cards indicate the status of each unit and some of their characteristics. You can see how much 'wounds' and 'movement' each unit has remaining. 'Movement' is refreshed each turn, 'wounds' are not. Once wounds are reduced to 0, the unit is dead.

Phase 1 : Movement phase

In the movement phase, you move your units. Each unit has a specified movement range this can be found in their stats. Using up the movement range is optional. Units can move in any direction as long as they don’t move off the board, into other units or unto a unit’s corpse. You can move as many or few of your units you want, each movement phase. Click on either the unit on the board or on the unit card, this will select that unit and cause them to glow. Use the arrow buttons to move the unit. Once you have finished moving your units, click on the 'end turn' button, and move onto the 'shooting' phase.

Phase 2 : Shooting phase

In the shooting phase, your units use their firearms. All your faction units are able to do so. The player selects a unit by clicking on the unit or unit card this will cause the unit to glow. Click on an enemy unit to target, this will also glow. To fire click the 'shoot' button.

If the targetted unit is out of range, you will see a message and you must choose a different action

The unit is then able to make a ballistic skill check. This involves generating a random number between 1 and 6 and checking against the units ballistic skill. If the unit fails, the shot misses. The strength of the weapon is then measured against the toughness of the target. If the toughness is equal to the strength, a 4 or higher is needed on another random number between 1 and 6. If the strength is less than a target’s toughness, a 5 or higher is required, and if the strength is greater than the target’s toughness, a 3 or higher is required. If the attacker succeeds, the target is injured (their wounds are decreased by one) or now dead (their wounds are now 0). Each unit may fire as many times as the have 'attacks' in their characteristics

When you have fired as many times as you wish or are allowed, then click on the 'End' button, and your enemy faction will take their turn.

Winning & losing

Victory is achieved by ‘last man standing’. Once all the units belonging to one faction have been killed, that faction has lost and the other faction has won a victory. The result of the battle will be displayed on the screen. Click on the 'Home' button to return to the home screen and start a new battle.
